Role: The BESS Sales Manager, is the owner of the Sales Plan preparation, implementation, and execution, within the assigned geography, for the utility scale and, where applicable, for the Commercial & Industrial market segments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the origination of opportunities, deciding the Sales strategy for the country and, case by case, for the specific project/account, and securing the target sales volumes and win rate, in line with the business financial targets. He/she will own the customers’ relationship in the assigned geography, ensuring customer satisfaction and bridging between the business and the customer to the best mutual advantage. They will closely cooperate with the other internal stakeholders, providing direct feedback from the market and competitive intelligence, to improve the business’ performance and market share in the assigned region.
Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the executive business director, the National Sales Director, Energy Storage, will be responsible for:
Generating and selecting those new opportunities for which the product range of the business unit is a best fit.
Coordinating the internal commercial and supporting functions to deliver timely and high-quality proposals.
Leading the contract negotiations for the awarded orders, coordinating all the internal support and commercial functions involved.
Agreeing, executing, and delivering on the sales volumes, profitability, and cash flow commitments, on quarterly basis.
Coordinating customers’ events, technology sessions, third parties’ channels, within the assigned region.
Managing the annual expense budget assigned to him/her.
Skills: The successful candidate must meet the following criteria, as a minimum:
Deep knowledge of the energy markets, including regulatory aspects, in the assigned geography/country.
Perfect knowledge and understanding of the Li-Ion battery technologies, applications, and complex Li-Ion based battery storage systems.
Business acumen in the energy trading, energy management and electric grid optimization sector.
Strong and documented commercial, selling and negotiation skills.
Perfect understanding of the regulatory framework in the electricity sector of the assigned region.
Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team in a cross-functional, task-oriented organization, through solid leadership skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with C-level leadership.
Fluency in English language, both spoken and written, and in the local language of at least one of the countries within the assigned region.
Engineering/technical background, or proven equivalent experience, in the energy sector would be a plus.
Experience: The following minimum experience track record is required for a candidate to this position to be successful:
10+ years’ experience in Sales and/or Commercial roles in global companies, of which at least 5 in the energy storage sector.
Proven track record of successful negotiations in the energy storage sector
Team leadership and/or national executive role in primary global companies.
