Mechanical Engineer – Energy Storage Systems
We have an exciting opportunity for an Mechanical Engineer, with a focus on Li-Ion energy storage systems, to join our team. You will serve as the technical resource and contract project design and verifications of project scope, costing application and client/customer/partner system design. Additionally, you will be involved with the project post-sale as a system technical resource to the project management team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop concept drawings sets (Mechanical One-line Diagrams, Site Layouts, etc.)
- Interface with the global development and production team in Asia and the U.S. to ensure timing, design and scope meet customer needs
- Be a technical liaison for the Sales team, customers and partners
- Code Interpretation and Application (NEC, NFPA, IBC, etc.)
- Review of specifications, drawings or customer requests to determine project scope, schedule, specifications, risk, and all technical delivery requirements
- Power system analysis (fault, coordination, arc flash)
- Perform as an expert resource for general product specifications, application – customization discussions and inquiries
- Work closely with sales staff, engineering and manufacturing leads to ensure complete and shared project understanding
- Assist sales in the development of project scope, schedule, risk management ID, and project information management
- Confirm client solutions design accuracy with sales and translate this project application design review accurately to estimating, engineering, manufacturing, and operations
- Post-sale engineering project management
Requirements:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree
- Strong Commercial and Industrial Electrical power systems knowledge, Li-Ion energy storage systems design, application analysis and estimating skills
- Experience with the deployment of grid-tied equipment
- Be familiar with the sales process, strategic goals, and project delivery process requirements
- Experience with electrochemical systems such as batteries, or fuels cells
- Experience leading compliance efforts (ex. UL, CE, NFPA)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an electrical consultant, application engineer or related industry
- Detail and process-oriented
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communications and relationship skills
- Passion to contribute in a fast-growing environment and global ESS manufacturer
- Renewable Energy Storage Systems Experience
- Strong CAD and computer software skills are required
