Reserve Power Level 4 Technician

Our client is a leading provider of DC power and equipment maintenance solutions to warehouse and manufacturing customers. Our custom, engineered power systems and maintenance solutions minimize costly downtime through forklift power solutions, mission critical backup power and on-site forklift and allied equipment maintenance. Job Summary

The Reserve Power Level 4 technician is an expert in the telecommunications industry and extensive experience with utility and UPS power systems. This is a leadership position that will supervise and train less experienced technicians and run projects. A level 4 technician should be able to design custom power solutions and provide turnkey installations. Due to the hot work requirement of this leadership position, safety must be of the highest importance. A major aspect of this position is to ensure the highest standards of quality and service. 

Key Job Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interact with all levels of people, both inside and outside the company.
  • Provide the highest quality of service possible in order to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Timely reporting of all activities including service reports, expense reports, and maintenance reports to the customer.
  • Being directly responsible for company assets, including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools and test equipment.
  • Be able to function with little direct supervision.

    1. Supervise and Complete Telecom Central Office and UPS battery Installations.
    1. Provide Site Assessment details for new and existing DC Power Systems. Recommend proper equipment to provide customers from your findings and present to Account Managers and/or Sales Team with Equipment and Labor Cost to provide service.
    1. Troubleshoot and repair ALL battery rectifiers by gaining a complete understanding of the electrical operation of the latest module technologies. Install DC Power System in Battery Cabinets, Remote Huts and Central Office (CO) customers.
    1. Supervise site Installation Teams and Sub Contractors for Servicing Data Centers, Financial institutions, Hospitals, and Telecom Accounts.
    1. Project Management of Service Maintenance Contracts and Power Generation Equipment with Critical Facility Services (CFS) customers
    1. Responsible to review customer inquiries, specifications, and engineering data and recommend products and services to suit their requirements.
    1. Responsible to maintain all company vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
    1. Responsible for approving and completion of all work orders, expense reports, PM worksheets and any documentation as requested.
    1. Building strong relationships with customer by presenting a professional appearance, speaking positively about our company, our suppliers and our fellow employees.   Being sure to promote company products, suggestive selling and solving customer complaints and problems.
    1. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements:
  • Education: AAS Degree / Tech School or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable using other software programs for test reports, time sheets, and training.
  • 7+ years of technician experience in the Telecom Industry with DC Power and/or UPS equipment is required.
  • Strong communication skills – maintain a professional demeanor during high stress situations.
  • Ability to operate various company vehicle types in a safe and competent manner. Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record with minimal traffic violations.
  • Ability to maintain effective and respected work relationships with others.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Leadership experience – takes ownership of problems and give credit to team members
  • Military service is a plus
  • High level communication skills in all facets of business
  • High energy and positive attitude
  • Ability to sustain a significant travel commitment in the territory
